You’re warmly invited to celebrate 10 years of Eco Church with us! Join us at Chelmsford Cathedral on Wednesday 30 September2026 for a special evening of worship, celebration and hope as we give thanks for all God has done through Eco Church over the past decade.

🕒 Time: Service at 5:15pm followed by panel event at 6:30pm
📍 Venue: Chelmsford Cathedral, New Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1TY
The evening will begin with a service at 5:15pm, followed by refreshments and time to chat, share stories and visit the stalls. At 6:30pm, there will be a panel discussion featuring author and broadcaster Professor Jules Pretty, climate campaigner Lola Fayokun, vicar and author Revd Jules Middleton and A Rocha UK’s Head of Engagement, Jo Herbert-James.
Everyone is welcome to join for all or part of the evening. The event is free, and light refreshments will be provided, but please book to help us with numbers for catering.
While you're there, don't miss Threads Through Creation, Jacqui Parkinson's textile exhibition, on display at the cathedral. We'd encourage you to allow a little extra time to enjoy this remarkable exhibition before or after the event.
This anniversary service will be a joyful time of praise and thanksgiving, as we remember God’s goodness and all that has been achieved over the last 10 years.

Do you long to see more people taking action to care for God’s creation? Are you ready to use your passion for the environment to mobilise others? Then our new course is for you! We are delighted to give you a first look at a brand new initiative from A Rocha UK: The Christian Environmental Mobilisers Course (CEMs).
Launching in October 2026 and designed to fit around your life, this interactive online programme will equip you with the biblical foundation, knowledge and influencing skills to become a powerful catalyst for environmental change in your church, workplace or community. The course will be delivered over six evening sessions, monthly. These are the themes that you’ll explore:
The Christian mandate for the flourishing of creation
Understanding and communicating the climate and nature crises
Christian leadership and influencing for action on climate and nature
Church/organisation engagement
Campaigning as a Christian locally and more widely
Moving forward: ongoing leadership for the flourishing of creation
There will also be an opportunity to attend two (optional) face-to-face one-day meetings and participate in practical placements as part of an advanced certification.
Led by expert facilitators and inspiring guest speakers, this course can be completed fully online and is accessible to everyone, no matter where you are on your journey.

Alpha Course
Our next Alpha course will be in early 2027
The weekly sessions take place in Earls Colne Church, one evening each week, 7.30-9pm, beginning with a light supper at 7pm.
The Alpha course runs for eleven weeks and includes a day away together. Eleven weeks may sound long but it flies by and we always feel a wrench when it ends.
Alpha is for anyone who is curious about faith or wanting to investigate and deepen their own - no previous knowledge is necessary. It is a space for discussion and and exploration of the Christian faith. Each session includes a short talk, a video and group discussion on that week’s topic. Topics include reading the Bible, prayer and who is Jesus.
